Be Pink! Breast Cancer Awareness Month

What is Breast Cancer Awareness Month?

Every October, people all over the world show their support for people affected by breast cancer.

Pink Bra Bazaar is a charitable organisation dedicated to breast health and supporting women with breast cancer

Their breast health program promotes the role of lifestyle changes in reducing the risk of breast cancer for women of all ages.
“I Love My Boobs” is more than a slogan. It’s an attitude and it is a commitment.

Everyone is touched by breast cancer. Mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, aunts, and friends will be diagnosed every year. The World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes early detection and timely treatment as primary factors to improving mortality rates, yet breast cancer remains a taboo subject. Fear blocks women from taking preventive measures and loss of self-confidence arises from the stigma and feelings of isolation for those diagnosed with breast cancer.

Pink Bra Bazaar puts the bra in the center of highly visible awareness programs to educate and empower women to play an active role in their own breast health. Years of professional expertise in fashion, lingerie, and beauty combined with our own personal experiences with breast cancer help break down barriers and encourage dialogue.

Their support programs in collaboration with medical professionals focus on building a positive self-image for women undergoing treatment or living with breast cancer.

Kate Kemp-Griffin, a Canadian in Paris is the Founder and President of Pink Bra Bazaar

Kate Kamp - Griffin

Kate Kemp-Griffin is a connoisseur of breasts. From the moment she arrived in France in 1990, the former Canadian PR director launched her own lingerie company that specialized in accessories and beauty products to fill a niche in the market. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, Kate immediately focused her attention on healing and founded Pink Bra Bazaar.

Author and lingerie expert Kate Kemp-Griffin guides women to celebrate and enjoy the full expression of themselves through their bodies. Her book Paris Undressed: The Secrets of French Lingerie inspires women to explore the language of lingerie and to find harmony through their mind and through their body — both dressed and undressed.

Through her lingerie tours, workshops, and retreats, women learn to celebrate how they feel rather than judge themselves by how they look. By moving into calm and stillness through meditation and creating sensorial experiences using lingerie, women cultivate vitality and beauty with renewed confidence.
